History of Community
Village of Avoca was incorporated on February 10, 1870. First settlers of Avoca, primarily loggers and farmers. They were drawn to the vitality of the Wisconsin River and the bountiful land. Avoca continues to be a popular area for fishing and hunting.
Notable past residents of Avoca include: William Marshall, accomplished musician and founder of the Marshall Bros. Circus, and Dr. Bertha Reynolds, well-know country doctor.
